Snow Characteristics Comments

It appears that the wind basically shut down about the time the brunt of the snowfall occurred last night between midnight and 5am. The new snow was disturbed very little by the wind even along the higher terrain.

Red Flags Comments
This is actually a red flag for future snow storms. I'm quite disappointed by how much faceted snow is present in the upper elevation terrain.

Problem #1 Comments

Last night I was thinking I would see some fresh wind slabs from the overnight storm. Not the case, just 5 inches of fluff. This new snow did not increase the avalanche danger today.

However, it does look like we'll see an increase in wind speed on Saturday which will most likely blow the new low density snow around and form some drifts that will probably be sensitive if they are provoked.
