Forecast for the Skyline Area Mountains

The avalanche danger is LOW today. Anticipate the danger to increase as the next storm adds snow. The danger will most likely reach MODERATE by tomorrow depending on new snow amounts. The danger will be most pronounced along the highest terrain where the wind will blow the new snow into drifts.

Weather and Snow

The snowpack has been settling with overall depths of 10 to 15" in the 9000 to 10000' range. We do not have much information on the current snowpack. With the thin snowcover, it is difficult to get into areas where a person could trigger an avalanche. Also, the avalanche danger has been decreasing since the last storm.
