Snow Characteristics Comments
Spring has arrived in the La sal's. A mixed bag of conditions can be found depending slope aspect. South facing slopes were mash potatoes by the afternoon. Sun crust were prominent on east and west facing slopes. We even found some thin sun crust on north east facing slopes in gold basin. The snow that fell over the past week was dense and supportable with minimal ski penetration for the 25 to 30 inches of snow that fell last week.
