Went up Willow Hieghts to get a look into the Monitors no luck with that, white out conditions most of the day due to fog, skied NW, W, S aspects the moderately dense snow was keeping you on top, not inverted just settled out and dense through the whole pack, trail breaking was a bit of work. NE winds were blowing straight up W and S Monitor turning the new snow into instant dense wind slabs. Did experience a few large collapses but they were on the ridge line of the Monitors where the wind was making some reverse cornices pointing south. Thinking the bonding of the new snow was good but could due without the east winds and the rime. New snow drifts would crack but not shooting cracks by any means. Biggest concerns are a heat up in temps, hard melt freeze crust don't peculate water very well, they get lubbed up and create a sliding surface. Thinking the U-DOT boys are going have their hands full the next three days. Photos, Fog down low and up high, cracking in new wind drifts, rime collecting on the new snow in the trees, reverse cornice on S Monitor
Would pay special attention to the heating of the sun, have seen things get really loose, really fast when you have dense new snow sitting on a stout crust.
