Snow Characteristics Comments

Snow is totally aspect dependent. Aspects off of of north are melting out and are thin. On north aspects out of the conifers snow is dense and turnable. In the trees patches of ice and dead fall are the concern.

So while the coverage is thin to non existent at least the trail is frozen and fast. I passed Bruce on my way up the canyon today hoping for things to really soften up. Did not really happen for me.

Red Flags Comments
Did dig one quick and pit and as usual could not really isolate a collum due to the facets just off the ground. Same as it ever was. Attached pic showes the tin ice layer sitting on the facets with dense compact snow on top. About 2' deep.
