Snow Characteristics Comments

A few inches of powder on widespread solid crust. Could ride anywhere on supportable snow and very good coverage. Crust under new snow was slippery while ascending, and we couldn't go up very steep slopes.

Problem #1 Comments

We didn't find any significant or sensitive wind slabs today, but they're possible on some upper elevation slopes

Comments

We found nice dust-on-crust conditions and very good coverage up in Steep Hollow. We traveled over very rough and rocky country that was well filled-in and smoothed-out by about 3 feet of dense, fairly hard snow capped by a smooth solid crust and about 4 inches of fresh powder. We found low angled slopes the best, given the the very fast, smooth conditions.
