Shaded, non sun-affected slopes had about and inch or two of soft snow on top of a bullet proof crust.

Similar elevation sun affected slopes were corning up by 11am.

We left before it got too warm but there were plenty of rollerballs and pinwheels from previous days.

Great day in the Wellsvilles- seems the past couple of nights of below freezing temps followed by sunny warm days has really locked up the snowpack. Spring conditions mean early starts and home by early afternoon to avoid wet activity.

Able to ascend and descend separate avalanche paths that ran (big) during the February cycle.
