Skied the Pinto Glades (funny that they aren't glades, but more like pinto beans), near side today with a couple of friends. Heard a loud whump upon entering the open snowfields, and a couple along the way there, but none after that. Some snow cracking along the uptrack on the way there. There was less snow on the south facing slopes (maybe 7") than on the hike up, which proved to be very good for some low-angle turns. Good supportable crust underfoot, but could break through if you didn't keep your weight back. Good coverage in the trees, with few obstacles to contend with. Chair 11 was also good, but had to break trail on the lower section - going downhill. ps - nice job, Eric - I especially like you giving the snow totals, since the tabulations seem to be in a foreign language.
