Went to Cardiff today to have a look at the coverage, and how the snow was holding up on the high North. Pretty pleased with what I saw. Only the high norths were holding enough snow to matter, about 15 inches at 10500ft due north facing. All other aspects were holding a melt freeze crust or dirt. The high norths are faceted top to bottom but the patchiness of the coverage is not a very large area in the scheme of things. There will probably be a few booby traps lurking when it snows for real but they are super easy to identify and should not cause much of a problem to people who are keeping track of coverage. Photos, coverage in Cardiac Bowl, LSB and Cardiac Ridge, shallow north facing pit at 10500, facets from the pit, and a short video of how loose the facets are.
