Snow Characteristics Comments

Cloud cover and a breeze helped a bit, but by midday the snow was sticky, soft, and punchy in un-compacted terrain even up high. My sled would suddenly sink into soft slushy snow at times, especially in east facing areas, so I mostly stayed on packed routes....

Widespread natural loose wet avalanches today and yesterday, mostly fairly small, but some bigger and packing a punch....

Comments

Here's a look at a few fresh loose wet avalanches on the west side of Tony Grove Lake (east facing 8200-8400')

A natural wet sluff ran a good ways down east facing Morning Glory Bowl in Cottonwood Canyon within the Mount Naomi Wilderness Area.....

And a few came off the steep south face of Mt. Gog

Fresh wet avalanche activity was visible from many areas in the west facing terrain across Logan Canyon from Red Banks Campground... Also could see evidence of sizable wet avalanches in Tab Hollow and on a few of the big east facing slopes in the Wellsville Mountain Wilderness.....
