Most unstable snow I have seen all year. Collapsing on e,s,and w below 8500'.

The light freeze last night suckered us into looking for corn snow and we did find some above 8500' before noon.

The descent was one big collapsing, unconsolidated mess. Skis sinking to the ground.

We were on lower angle slopes. Wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere near 35 degrees or more. "If you are sinking up to your knees, then you shouldn't be there."

Otto triggered a collapse (5" sinkhole) on the descent. We triggered dozens of similar collapses during the day.
