Snow Characteristics Comments
Saw 0 avalanches, but some instability noted during tour higher up on argenta. argenta high up slide path (9700ish' guess) but below ridge- got some short cracking- 28 degree slope below cliffs. not very long cracks maby 2 feet longat best. 8" deep. snow is real light not slabby. was able to walk above skin track and have it fracture. light density snow is not at all slabby/popy/pr reactive. riding it felt like there is a bit of a layer too exp at higher elevation. bit too light, hard trailbreaking. (backfooted snowboarding) cracking were 8" deep, a bit spotty, but consistient, slightly compass dependant - had best luck cracking with westish also facing slopes. Also wind protected areas produced cracks that were not west facing. handpits showed same. also 3 pm lower westish facing argenta (1000' above road) started to cook/ heavy up. , maby some radiation recrystalalization going on?
