Clear skis all around but damn cold. It must have been minus 0 degrees all day. If the temperature was to get to 27 degrees we would have been relying on an act of God. I was exiting the Powder Park area where I usually find good shaded slopes with 25 degrees and enough to get 25 or 30 powder turns in for 7 or 8 runs for the day. I exited out of Rosco's and started down an immediately hit a layer of ice, in fact I got pitched on my butt two or three times before I could get back on to the Canyons Resort. Very strange on north facing slopes. I don't know if this condition will expand to other slopes or not. It was late in the afternoon so I did not take the time to dig any pits. I don't know that I have encountered this condition with very cold weather and powder several days before especially since the temperature has been below zero. Maybe an enigma.
Beware the Wasatch Snow Duck. I simply happened to be hiking up and started to take this photo when I realized there was an image of a duck in the frame. I have enhanced the imagine so it is more intense. The photo is no cock and bull story. Hope everyone enjoys it.
