You can receive tweets on your mobile device. The Utah Avalanche Center monitors #utavy and streams tweets with that tag on the Observation Page. See something interesting in the backcountry? - Sign up for a free Twitter account if you don't have one already
- Go to Twitter.com and sign in
- Search for UACwasatch or UAClogan and click on Follow
To get notifications via text on your mobile device:
- Go to Twitter.com and sign in
- Go to Profile & Settings, upper right corner
- Select Settings
- Select Mobile. Enter your phone number and make sure Tweets from people you've enabled for mobile notifications is checked
- From your phone, text the message follow UACwasatch or UAClogan to 40404.
To quit getting text alerts:
You need to do that through Twitter - we don't actually send you that message - we send it to Twitter and you have chosen to get our messages from Twitter. Go to https://twitter.com/following, log in when you are asked, and scroll down to where you see UtahAvalancheCenter. If you hover your cursor over the blue Following box, you will see the option to Turn Off Mobile Notifications. Click that to quit getting text alerts.
