Snow Characteristics Comments
Northerly aspects had about 50cm of consolidated powder on top of 8cm of facets from the late October storm. Quick hand pits at 9300ft failed with significant coaxing in the facets and at the graupel layer. The east bowl held 'damp' powder over field grass and bushes.
It appears people have been respecting the advisories and sticking to aspects without the threat of old October snow. The appeal of the east bowl was obvious with all the tracks from previous days.
