Forecast for the Skyline Area Mountains

Wednesday morning, January 10, 2018
The avalanche danger will reach HIGH in the upper elevation terrain today IF the storm produces the anticipated snow and wind. Avoid being on or below any steep slope in the mid and upper elevations especially slopes that face west, north and east. Avalanches can be triggered from a distance. The avalanches will be about a foot deep (deeper in wind drifted areas) and could be several hundred feet wide. These won't be destructive "tree snappers" but are certainly large enough to injure or kill a person.
