Comments

The avalanche was at least 200 feet wide and produced a large enough pile of debris that you wouldn't want to be caught in.  There were a few inches of new snow on the debris which tells me it released sometime near the end of the storm on Monday night, probably around 9pm when the northwest wind picked up in speed.  This slope is a "frequent offender" and avalanches often.  This slide was most likely triggered from a cornice fall onto the 40 degree plus starting zone.  The top of the avalanche was obscured by clouds so I couldn't get a good view of it, only of the debris.
