Comments
We were riding in an area that had a good view of Cornice ridge. Winds were gusting throughout the day moving some snow. At about 2:00PM a cornice broke off the ridge on an ENE facing slope and slid 2/3 the length of Cornice ridge. The cornice released a slab about 100 feet wide. It looked to be a couple feet deep right under the cornice. We also notice a recent avalanche on an East facing slope along the Naomi trail about 2/3 the way between the lake and Naomi Peak. We were close enough to get any pictures or other details.
