Light wind on ridge tops, Light snow Wet snow sliding on buried surface hoar. North aspect, about 38 degrees steepness, 8-12" deep, 40' wide at toe This slide was skier triggered, as much as I hate to admit it, I was standing just below him when it released, the visibility was poor, only a few feet, so I did not see it release, I heard the noise just before it knocked me down for a 100" ride. Thought that skinning up a existing debris pile would be safe, not so (Indication of recent activity). I think this slide was a good example of the Greenhouse effect, we had been skiing light cold snow all day but the conditions were much different on this aspect, damp and heavy. New light snow about 4" over about 12" of damp dense snow.
