In Memory of Andrew Cameron

Andrew Joseph Cameron, “10k Dave”, age 22, of Cottonwood Heights, UT, formerly of Centerville, OH, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024 as the result of an avalanche at Lone Peak in the Wasatch Range. Andrew was born December 26, 2001 to Vince and Cindy (Landers) Cameron. He graduated in 2020 from Centerville High School, and then attended Utah State University. As an Eagle Scout, Andrew had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for the outdoors. He would often embark on backcountry skiing excursions, ultra-light backpacking, and trail running. Andrew had an infectious smile and positive outlook on life. Along with his parents, Andrew is survived by brothers, Nathaniel and Benjamin. Andrew truly found his second family in the backcountry skiing community and for that we are forever grateful.

To help honor Andrew's life, his family has asked for donations to support the Utah Avalanche Center in lieu of flowers.

The Utah Avalanche Center exists to keep people on top of The Greatest Snow On Earth® by providing avalanche forecasting, education, and awareness throughout Utah in collaboration with the US Forest Service. Andrew was an avid backcountry recreationist and supporter of the UAC.
