The avalanche danger is generally LOW today. Avoid being below large cornices and any glide cracks.

SUNDAY, APRIL 16TH WILL BE THE LAST DAY OF REGULAR AVALANCHE ADVISORIES.

We will do updates for any significant weather trend that will change the avalanche conditions. This would include significant storms or a rapid and prolonged warming period.
current conditions

We are in a typical spring time pattern where the snow freezes up solid at night and softens with daytime heating in the afternoon. It has not been getting so wet during the day to become unstable. Glide cracks have not moved much and no natural cornice releases have occurred.

Under clear skies overnight, ridge top temperatures were in the mid 20s and the west northwest wind was generally light.

Avalanche conditions will remain mostly stable today and Sunday. I am continuing to avoid being below glide cracks as well as avoiding big overhanging cornices.

Today and Sunday look like real nice days with sunny skies and ridgetop temperatures in the low to upper 40s. Wind will be generally light. It looks like we may see a change in the weather pattern with some storms moving through mid week then perhaps late in the week also. These might produce some mountain snow for our area.
