bottom line

The avalanche danger today is mostly LOW. Continue to follow safe protocols by only putting one person on a slope at a time and make sure everyone is not grouping up in runnout zones below avalanche paths.
current conditions

Wow. What a crazy melt down we experienced in February. Snow conditions are very much like what we see at the end of March with melt freeze crusts on most aspects and elevations. Trailheads from the Sanpete Valley have melted out considerably like Ephraim Canyon where you can hardly ride a sled from the normal parking lot. Ridgetop high temperatures have been in the 40s with overnight lows around freezing. Riding conditions are "so so" at best. Lots of folks are waiting before they head up until afternoon when the snow softens a bit from the warmth.

Low danger doesn't mean no danger but it's fairly unlikely you'll trigger something today. Upper elevation north through east facing slopes which have avalanched earlier this season are the places you could possibly trigger something.

A storm on Sunday may produce enough snow to increase the avalanche danger. It's hard to say if it will load the old shallow slopes that avalanched earlier with enough snow to make them dangerous again. At this point, keep that in mind as a possibility.

It'll be fairly warm again today with some mid level clouds moving through. Southwest wind might increase enough in speed to notice. The big focus is on the Sunday/Monday storm which should bring around 6 inches of higher density snow. It looks like things will get a bit windy and temperatures stay mild only dipping into the mid 20s late Sunday. An unsettled pattern will follow into next week,
