bottom line

The storm from Tuesday, October 10th may have produced some fresh wind drifts in the highest terrain that could be sensitive to the weight of a person. This minor avalanche danger will be most pronounced today and will decrease over the next few days and into the weekend. There is not much avalanche danger outside of the highest terrain.
current conditions

The storm that moved through yesterday, Tuesday Oct 10th, left 6 to 14" of snow in the mountains. This new snow landed on either bare ground or a very small amount of snow that was left from the Oct 4th storm. We don't have a whole lot of information due to a very limited snow cover which makes traveling difficult in the high country right now.

The only avalanche concern would be any fresh drifts of snow which might crack out along the highest terrain formed by the recent gusty winds. Due to difficult travel, it is unlikely that many people would be traveling in this terrain right now, but if you are, watch for any cracking on the snow surface. If you are seeing this, steeper slopes near by may produce small avalanches. These fresh drifts will stabilize over the next few days.

The big picture is the most recent storm will move off to our east today and we'll see high pressure with mild conditions through the weekend. Another storm is shaping up and looks like it will move through early next week.

Veterans Day: Cloudy early, then clearing, with a high near 30. Wind chill values as low as zero. Blustery, with a west northwest wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 15. West northwest wind 16 to 21 mph decreasing to 7 to 12 mph in the evening.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 36. Northwest wind 9 to 13 mph.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 16. West northwest wind around 7 mph.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 37. West southwest wind 6 to 8 mph.
Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 18.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 38.
Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 24.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 37.
Sunday Night: A slight chance of snow showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 18.
Monday: A chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 20. Breezy.
