Current
Conditions:
The first winter storm of the season has blanketed the Skyline with over
16 of new snow in the past 24 hours. Expect
snow and blowing snow conditions throughout the day. Road crews will be working hard throughout the Sanpete Valley and
over Highway 31. This new snow could be
covering ground hazards lurking just below the snow surface, use caution and
try not to wreck your new snowmobile in this first shot of snow.

Any time there is a considerable amount of accumulation of new snow and sustained winds over 15mph, the potential for avalanches is increased. Please use caution when traveling in avalanche terrain, always look for signs of instability such as recent avalanches, shooting cracks, whoomphs and cornice development. For today the avalanche danger for the Manti Skyline will be CONSIDERABLE on North through East aspects with slope angles greater than 35 degrees. In all other areas the avalanche danger will be MODERATE.
