Avalanche Advisory
Advisory: Provo Area Mountains Issued by Evelyn Lees for Friday - October 28, 2016 - 11:47am
special announcement

Still waiting for snow...has a silver lining. Shallow, early season snow packs often develop into a weak layer that can last for months, reactivated each time it snows. So here's to bare ground until the storm track centers directly over us, the storms start and don't quit!

While you wait for more snow, mark your calendars -

November 4th: If you live, ride, ski, or work on the Wasatch Back, check out Live PC Give PC on November 4, a 24 hour celebration of all that non-profit organizations, including the Utah Avalanche Center, do for your quality of life. Help support the UAC!

November 5th: USAW is next Saturday, November 5th. The entire day is open to all - check out the updated line up! Buy your tickets HERE.

Whole foods event:

Between now and Jan 15th: Donate to the Utah Avalanche Center by shopping at Whole Foods Market Utah! when you visit Whole Foods Market Trolley Square, Sugarhouse & Cottonwood Heights locations and bring in your re-usable bags, Whole Foods will donate a dime per bag to Utah Avalanche Center when the cashier asks if you want to “keep or donate” your bag credit and you say “DONATE".

This is part of the Whole Foods “Your Change Creates Change”program, created to assist local non-profits!

This is a fantastic opportunity for us to partner with Whole Foods and raise funding for our avalanche forecasting and education programs! We hope you’ll stop into Whole Foods Market, do some shopping and bring your reusable bags! The three participating locations are:

Whole Foods Market Trolley Square - 544 S 700 E, Salt Lake City

Whole Foods Market Sugarhouse - 1131 E. Wilmington Ave., Salt Lake City
