Avalanche Advisory
Advisory: Moab Area Mountains Issued by Eric Trenbeath for Wednesday - December 27, 2017 - 6:55am
special announcement

This advisory will be updated intermittently with a general conditions report until snow coverage is sufficient for winter travel.

Plowing: The road to Geyser Pass Trailhead is plowed and snow packed.

Grooming: Cross Country trails were groomed on Sunday and conditions are actually quite good.

current conditions

It's been nearly a week since the last snowfall which amounted to 10" of low density snow falling on mostly bare ground. Over the past five days, warm temperatures and moderate NW winds have taken their toll, and the snow in sheltered areas has settled out to 5" or less. The higher peaks and bowls have been stripped of snow.
