Moab Avalanche Advisory

Forecaster: Max Forgensi

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The La Sal Mountains are starting to look white!  Two small storms are making roads a little slippery, but we are waiting for a big dump to get the 2008-2009 season underway.  Snow stakes in Gold Basin and at the trailhead are up.  The Pre-Laurel Peak weather station should be running by Thanksgiving, while the first forecast will be during the beginning of December.

LUNA will be meeting November 20th at 5:00 pm at the Grand Center.  Interested grooming volunteers should attend!

The Utah Avalanche Center-Moab will be hosting a Level I course January 30th-February 1st in the La Sal Mountains.  Call (435) 636-3363 for more info or to sign up.

Basic Avalanche Awareness classes will be held in Moab, times to be determined.  Please visit our advisory in mid-December for class schedules
