The avalanche danger is MODERATE today, but could rise to CONSIDERABLE by tomorrow. Be alert to increasing signs of instability such as cracking in the snow surface and avoid steep slopes with recent deposits of wind drifted snow.

5" of new snow has fallen at Camp Jackson with possibly more at upper elevations. A stormy pattern is on track with heavy snow forecasted through the weekend. Expect a rising avalanche danger.

Snow. Patchy blowing snow between 1pm and 2pm. Patchy fog before 10am. High near 24. Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tonight

Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy blowing snow between 10pm and 3am. Low around 20. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible.

Saturday

Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy blowing snow. High near 25. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible.

Saturday Night

A 50 percent chance of snow before 11pm. Areas of blowing snow before 4am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 16. Windy, with a northwest wind 25 to 30 mph decreasing to 15 to 20 mph after midnight. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Snow likely, mainly after 11am. Patchy blowing snow after 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 25. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
