Wasatch Powderkeg February 24 at Brighton Resort

Backcountry riding is not all about floating effortlessly through 35 degree blower powder - for some of us, it involves big objectives, exposure, mixed rock, snow, and ice, and rapidly changing conditions.

We'll work on:

  • Basic belays
  • Building and using anchors
  • Equipment needs
  • Weather considerations
  • Eating and drinking enough
  • Traveling and managing equipment in steep, high angle terrain
  • Planning and packing for long, committing ascents & descents
  • Navigation and communication skills
