Today's tour was up the Y couloir in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Most of the couloir had already slid full track. I would imagine it slid during the night of the last snow event as we were ascending avalanche debris covered in about 3cm of snow from Fri/Sat. At about 9,000ft we came upon the crown Line that was about 20cm thick. It appeared to be a wind slab and was about one finger hard. There was still a significant pocket left hanging. Before we booted over it we performed an ECT. Results were ECTP6. Propagated on the old melt crust. It was game over for us at that point.
