Comments
Lake Shot avalanched in the last couple of days. Ripped across the entire feature. If you look closely in the photo there is a lower crown underneath the cliff band in the middle of the run. We skied up to the crown. At that point, the crown was about 3 feet. It was quite windy above 10k and snow was starting to cover the crown and bed surface. We observed a graupel layer at the depth of the crown. The ridge was heavily corniced, and directly above the slide the cornice seemed be broken, which is what we expect the trigger was. We expect the slab to have been formed from the series of storms over the last week plus wind loading this slope.
