I've been watching the east faces of the Wellsville Range during this warm spell and noticed some fresh activity this afternoon... Best to stay out from under large cornices and off steep slopes during sunny 50-degree weather. I'm waiting for a good freeze before I commit to anything steep in the mountains.

Comments

Pretty good coverage for this time of year, so there should still be some left after it cools off.

The avalanche was triggered by cornice fall and ran around 2000 vertical feet, filling North Hells Canyon with an impressive long, snaking pile of debris.
