Comments

Grant and I observed this natural avalanche while out for a field day in the Whitney Basin. This was the largest of several new snow slides we saw on this northeast aspect, that would have been heavily wind loaded from southwest winds on Wednesday. It appeared to only involve the storm snow and did not break into older deeper layers.
