This morning temperatures are in the mid teens F. Winds at ridgetops increased since yesterday and are blowing from the north 15 mph gusting to 25 mph. The Sunday/Monday storm brought plenty of wind, but only 2-4" of snow. Drew went above Aspen Grove to the Emerald Lake hut on Friday. Read what he found here.
There has been no reported avalanche activity in the Provo mountains.
The Provo area mountains had minimal snow to start with and only received a few inches from the latest storm. There are hardly any slopes with enough coverage to ride and hitting rocks is the greatest hazard. With slightly increased winds since yesterday, watch for and avoid any fresh wind drifts. Triggering one of these probably wouldn't bury someone, but would run them into rocks and cause injury.
Today will have more clear and cold weather. Winds will continue and even increase some from the North at 15-25 mph with some higher gusts. Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 20's F. For the long term weather forecast - sadly, no snow is expected in the next 7-10 days.
