HELP US SAVE LIVES
This is a fundraiser for the Utah Avalanche Center. All proceeds from the event go towards avalanche outreach and education geared specifically for snowmobilers.
What-
Essential Avy and Riding Skills Workshop
Want to learn from the pros about avalanches and how to get out, get after it, and come home alive? We are holding a hands-on avalanche and advanced riding skills clinic for snowmobilers. A Thursday evening chat session is followed by field instruction on Thousand Peaks Ranch (note the new location!) in the western Uinta Mountains. Instructors include Utah Avalanche Center forecasters along with Dan Gardiner, Phatty and the Boondockers crew. This is limited to 18 people, so we will have 6 riders per instructor
When and Where-Thursday Jan 24 - 7-10:00 pm- Tri-City Performance Springville location which is at 1350 South 2000 West, Springville Utah 84663, 801-794-3005 (Just south of exit 260 on the west frontage road of I-15).
Evening classroom instruction- Weather, snowpack, terrain, rescue and human factors involved in avalanche accidents. Thanks to Tri City for providing pizza and sodas.
Saturday Jan 26- 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Meet at Thousand Peaks Ranch.
9:00-10:30- Can you find your buddies and can they find you? We’ll practice with beacons, probes, and shovels and learn how to make our rescues FAST and SMART.
10:30-3:30- We’ll ride around Nobletts, Mill Hollow and Tower Mountain and learn how to check out the snow, talk about the best way to access the goods, and practice making smart group decisions.
In addition, Dan and Phatty will show you how to ride like a pro.
Whether you want to drop the big cliffs or get the confidence to take your friends and family out safely, this is your chance to learn from the best.
