Mostly a mixed bag of rotten snow and crusts.  The weakest snow I found was the decomposing stellars from last weekends storm that is just below the surface.  The wind from the last few days has whipped up a balance testing crust at the surface on most of the exposed slopes.  This is likely strong enough to hold a bit of a load with the next storm.  All the protected slopes have just weak snow  at the top.  The next weakest and also the most troubling layer I found was the facets that sit atop the more stout mid Oct. crust.  You can see this layer in the pit that is attached.  This combination is likely to cause some issues once more of a load is added a few storms from now.

No energy in the snow right now but were sure getting setup for a couple good  cycles once winter decides to really arrive.
