Went to ski some south facing across from Alta today, went to Toledo Bowl first thing. Pole probing on the S and SW face on the hike up revealed a stable snow pack no facets underlying the three and a half foot deep snow pack. Continued on to Cardiff bowl and East Hellgate, whole different story on the SE Pole probing revealed that the last storm cycles snow is sitting on a fair amount of facets from the long dry spell. Looked into Cardiff Fork from Toledo, saw one large slide lookers left of High Ivory in the rock slabs not sure if it was from bombing by the heli or a natural, looked like it happened this morning, also a shallow pocket that pulled out naturally in the rocks between Cardiac Ridge and the other slide in the rock slabs. Pics of both slides in Cardiff.
