About 3-4" of new snow at the trailhead and about 6" at 9,500'.
Primary Concern
Primary Concern Comments:
No real red flags or big concerns. Dug a pit at about 9,500 on a north facing 35 degree slope. Snowpack was deep in this spot, approximately 2 meters; however, I only dug down a little over 1 meter. No surface hoar, but could still identify the later of near surface facets, about 80-90 cm down. However, I could not get a shear on this layer with an ECT. Could get clean shears on a CT with considerable force (CT28, Q2). No other shears in the upper 1 m, except the top 6 inches, which was sluffing easily on steeper slopes. Nice morning.
