Good protection from avalanche paths clearing out in some cases R4-D2-SS on the facet layer 65 cm down. Avalanche cycle was much more widespread than first inspected. Most significant avalanche occurred lookers left of El Pinche slide path (included the path) it was close to R5 as you can get. Numerous other pieces of snow are left on west aspects. Upper west facing aspects above tree line will be considered suspect until the warmth potentially settles the snow pack.
Photos show Tuk No slide path, where we took a look at the fracture line and also of Talking Mountain Cirque, including the El Pinche couloir. The right hand drainage had an avalanche close to R4/R5-D2, while the adjacent drainage did not slide...skier beware. These large (500' + wide in some cases) avalanches offer protection and some decent skiing in along the flanks. Similar terrain features in the range should be avoided or approached with serious caution. What a spectacular avalanche cycle in the La Sals!
Thin snow above alpine can ruin your day, so set the skin track where you can probe potential ski runs if possible. The La Sals can offer nice low angle touring currently.
