Snow Characteristics

New Snow Depth:
2"
New Snow Density:
Low
Snow Surface Conditions:
Powder
Snow Characteristic Comments:

Snow feels solid underfoot or on the sled. However, its all an illusion to what lies beneath. Very poor snow structure throughout the Skyline.

STAY OFF THE STEEPS. We traveled about 40 miles today and avoided all avalanche terrain. i.e. Slopes steeper than 30 degrees. The snowpack continues to show signs of instabilities and will remain suspect for the time being.

We want to be old and grey ( Some of us grayer and older) But this is not the year to punch it. This is the year to be patient. Being patient does not mean we can't have any fun. We can play all day in the low angle meadows and still have a blast, more important than having fun is that we come home to our loved ones at the end of the day.

Check out all the tracks.  Just because there is tracks on the hill, doesn't make it safe. I think these riders are lucky.

THE HILL WILL BE THERE NEXT YEAR......WILL YOU?
