Buried Facets.
After skiing the North facing trees off Reynolds peak we continued North to the 9,200 foot high point on the Eastern most part of the Gobblers ridge. Not sure what it's called. The 9,200 foot peak was wind scoured. We skied down North into the trees the pitch increased and the snow depth seemed much lower in contrast to the North facing Reynolds Trees.
Dug a quick pit facing N 345 degrees at 9,088ft. Total depth was just 43cm (17inches) to ground. Slope was 41 degrees in steepness. Top layer was 20cm fist density (lovely skiing). Then a 2-3mm crust layer. Then facets for 23cm to the ground.
Compression Test: CTM14 - by the time it collapsed I had pounded through the top 20cm and it all just disintegrated.
