Snow Characteristics

New Snow Depth:
20"
New Snow Density:
Low
Snow Surface Conditions:
Powder
Snow Characteristic Comments:

There was about 20" of new snow at Beaver Mountain which is currently not open. The new snow was fairly light density and was on top of about 10-20" of old snow. Felt a small bit of collapsing but nothing major. The base layer did have a very hollow sound as we skinned up it. The new snow seems to have bonded fairly well though with clear cold nights maybe some surface hoar may develop.

Red Flags

Heavy Snowfall
Red Flag Comments:

The terrain was less than 35 degrees so we did not expect to see any activity. A nice safe place to play.
