Started the day with a few inches of new snow at the trail head. Skies were mostly overcast, with periods of Moderate snowfall. Winds however were in the light range, from the NW. Snow surface and new snow were a mixed bag of grapuel and stellers. New Snow was not cohesive, and had a fair bond to yesterday's snow surface. However, I found above 9k, was soft slabs formation with minor cracking as I broke trail. It seems as if there in 18"+ of new storm snow in this location. Yesterday's minor green housing had no effect on ski quality, which I was surprised to find. As I rode, many small loose avalanches entrained new storm snow and ran fast in steep locations. When I returned to the trail head in the afternoon another 3"had fallen during my tour. Felt Like Winter Still... Side note: the previous day in Butler Fork had good quality powder in the morning, with damp snow on all solar aspects by mid day. Raymond Shoulder ran natural do to the daytime heat.
