Comments
We dug a pit at about 8400' on a NE facing slope. Our extended column test propagated at about 80cm's deep from the surface at 26 (ECTP26). It appeared to break on a layer of new anew that fell Sunday the 26th into Monday. This layer was easily identifiable as it has a lot of dirt particles mixed it. See pics. We saw a number of natural wind slab avalanches up on on the exposed ridglines accompanied with cornice debris and sluff. Also, with the warm temperatures, we saw a lot of pin wheels/roller balls on all aspects and very dense, wet, heavy snow at lower altitudes. The snow is DEEP. 14ft at our snow pit.
