Lots of new snow, signs of recent wind loading. The wind pockets and test slopes on the road in were not reactive. However as soon as we got to the gate we started to noticing lots of whoomphing and collapsing right off the skin track. Low angle slopes towards the creek (15 degree slopes) were collapsing and cracking with every move. Some of the whoomphing sounded like a bomb going off and one member of our party described it as soundings like his heart beating with every step that he took. While we were standing at the junction another party split off the creek and collapsed the slope above the skin track.
