I found clean and easy shear failures in exposed areas where shallow wind slabs or wind crusts had formed on the complex top few inches of the snowpack... I found buried and intact surface hoar all over the place, at upper elevations this was capped by an inch or two of fresh snow and a thin rime-crust...  And, despite the lack much transportable looking snow, increasing westerly winds certainly restarted drifting a fair amount snow around in the afternoon....
