Sure enough, a strong slab above very weak faceted snow or depth hoar.  Note how high off the ground the weakest facets are.  Certainly well above the anchoring effects of rocks and bushes...

Constant propagation with ECT tests scores varied from 12 to 18 taps from the elbow, with most failing in energetic and clean Q1way, and a few less so, or  Q2....
