Route Map: 

Mill D North toward Lake Desolation:  Park at the Spruces parking lot 9.5 miles up the canyon, cross the street, and head up through the houses and continue northeast to the fork.  Note that the route says ‘toward’ rather than ‘to’.  Stop just prior to the Lake, as avalanches frequently wash over the frozen lake during periods of avalanche danger.  The ridgeline to the south is the site of numerous close calls and accidents.   Dogs are not allowed in the watershed of BCC.
