The Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center is sponsoring a special discounted, 3-day Level 1 Avalanche class for backcountry riders between 16 and 24 years old.   It will be held at the Wasatch Mountain Club Lodge February 13, 14 and 15, 2010. This is an intensive 3-day class, with 60% of the time in the field, and 40% in the classroom, and exceeds the AAA guidelines for a Level 1. Registration starts Dec 1, in person, at Black Diamond Retail, 2092 East 3900 South, SLC, UT – cash or check only. Packets with complete details will be available.
