Would you like to be a part of the Utah Avalanche Center team? We could use your help.
Help Us Help Others: Talk about avalanche conditions with your partners. Friend us on
Facebook. Follow us on
Twitter. Mentor your less experienced friends and co-workers. Forward links to the
Know Before You Go videos, videos posted on our
Vimeo and
YouTube Channels, and our
website.
Professional Services: We periodically need professional services like graphic art, printing, trailer maintenance, web advertising strategy, copying, poster and sign making, ski tuning, and more. Let us know if you would like to be added to our network of pro-bono service providers
Internships: We periodically host interns for specific projects. If you would like to include some time with the Utah Avalanche Center as part of your 2012-13 school experience, please contact us.
Promote Avalanche Awareness: Let us know if you would be willing to put up an avalanche awareness poster in your business. We are also looking for more opportunities to present our free 1 hour
Know Before You Go awareness program. If you would like to host an evening talk,
have space for 20 or more people, can help us promote the event, and would like to bring more customers in or provide your stakeholders with some avalanche knowledge, let us know.
Host a Non-Profit Support Day: Your business can hold a non-profit appreciation or Avalanche Awareness day in which a percent of sales are donated to the Utah Avalanche Center. Or maybe a percent sales of a particular product for a week or a month. We drive traffic to your business by promoting this to our users (we send out about 3,700 emails per day have 4,600 facebook followers, and 5-10k people view our website daily mid-season).
Get Know Before You Go in your School: If you teach in or have children in a Middle or High School that does not regularly host a Know Before You Go awareness talk, we want to talk to you. This free 50 minute presentation teaches young adults the basics of avalanche awareness and to how to keep out of trouble on the snow.
Send Us Your Observations: If you see or trigger a slide in the backcountry, or see anything when you are out and about that we should be aware of, please
send us an observation. We can't be everywhere at once and your observations from the field are valuable to us.
